Brooklyn keeps a flat in the Centrum, which puts most of her bookings inside a short walk and the rest inside a short ride. She is twenty-four and unromantic about punctuality: the hour written in the thread is the hour she intends to knock on, and she expects the door to open on the first attempt. A tidied room, a working lamp and somewhere to put a bag register with her more than anything a guest could say. She has English and no interest in flowery phrasing, so a request framed in three careful layers usually gets unpicked and answered as the one question it was.

Brooklyn decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
