Rita would rather turn a booking down than take one that has been cut so short there is nothing in it for either side. She is twenty-seven, brunette, and lives close to the Prinsengracht where the water noise carries further than the traffic does. Italian and English are both at her disposal and she is unhurried in either of them. What is fixed beforehand is the hour, the length and the door; what happens inside that hour is hers to shape as she reads the room. She states her limits early, in the same even voice she uses for everything else.

Rita decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
